Transforming Education in Highgate, North London
Brass Architecture proudly secured first place in an invited competition to upgrade and future-proof a prestigious primary school inthe heart of Highgate.
Competing against renowned architectural studios, our winning proposal not only addressed the school’s immediate brief but alsoenvisioned a long-term, 20+ year redevelopment strategy, reimagining thesite for the future of education.

Our proposals include the overhaul of existing listed building fabric allowing for the reordering site wide teaching spaces – with a new dedicated nursery demise introduced to suit school immediate brief objectives.
Our submission storyboards a large master plan to completely redevelop the vast school site.
Design development has ratified required phases of works to suit future funding (and fundraising) channels. Phase 1 works covers the Early Years complex redevelopment returning attractive teaching environments to suit innovative teaching methods.


Brass Architecture have fully project managed the works from conception to pre-site mobilisation, evolving many design items to suit a diverse brief with many stakeholder interests.
Overall improvements to external areas of the school site, improved way-finding and safeguarding are inclusive; with our design acting as a catalyst for alternative teaching strategies.
Key architectural insertions are scaled to the key user group ‘the small child’ returning inviting, bright, warm teaching spaces for all user groups.
